COMPOUND ADDITION. quantities together, of divers denominations, but of the same quality, as money, weights, measures, &c. GENERAL RULE. Place the numbers so, that those of the same denomination may stand directly under each other. Then begin at the right hand column, and add up as in integers; divide the total by as many of that denomination as will make one of the next greater, set down the remainder (if any) under said column, and carry the quotient to the next, &c.
