8. The Senate shall have the power, whenever it may think fit, to modify or alter the terms upon which the Scholarship may be awarded, or otherwise to deal with the income of the Fund, provided the object for which the Scholarship has been founded is kept in view.

In August 1895, Kharshetji Rustamji Cama, Esq., in a letter addressed to the then Vice-Chancellor, offered, on behalf of the subscribers to the Bai Aimai Kharshetji Rustamji Cama Memorial Fund, a sum of Rs. 5,000 in 4 per cent. Port Trust Bonds for the foundation of a Scholarship, in the name of Bai Aimai Kharshetji Rustamji Cama, to be awarded to a Parsi Candidate in Avesta and Pahlavi at the Previous Examination.

At a meeting of the Senate held on the 9th March 1896 this offer was accepted with the best thanks of the Senate.

The Scholarship will be awarded in accordance with the following Regulations :

A Scholarship, to be called "THE BAI AIMAI KHARSHETJI RUSTAMJI CAMA SCHOLARSHIP," of the value of Rs. 200 and tenable for one year, shall be awarded annually by the Syndicate to the Candidate who passes the Previous Examination with the highest number of marks in Avesta and Pahlavi from among the Parsi Candidates, on condition that he prosecutes his studies in Avesta and Pahlavi in a College or Institution recognized by the University of Bombay.

2. The Candidate who is awarded the Scholarship must satisfy the Syndicate, within six weeks from the date of his election, that he has joined a College or Institution recognized by the University of Bombay.

3. The stipend of the Scholarship shall, subject to a deduction of five per centum to be contributed to the General Fund of the University, be payable half-yearly by the University Registrar on a bill to be drawn by the Head of such College, who shall certify under his signature on such bill that the Scholar is in regular attendance at the College, that his conduct is good, and that his progress in University studies is satisfactory.

4. Should the Scholar discontinue his University studies, or be unfavourably reported on by the Head of the College, it shall be in the discretion of the Syndicate to stop payment of the stipend, or to declare the Scholarship forfeited.

5. Any surplus which may arise from the vacancy of the Scholarship, during any year or part of a year, shall be added to the principal and shall be used for increasing the amount of the Scholarship.

In August 1895, the Honourable Nowrosji N. Wadia, C.I.E., in a letter addressed to the then Vice-Chancellor, offered to the University a sum of Rs. 5,000 in 4 per cent. Port Trust Bonds, for the foundation of a Scholarship in the name of Mr. Perozshaw Merwanji Jijibhai, to be awarded to a Parsi Candidate in Avesta and Pahlavi at the B.A. Examination.

The offer was accepted with the best thanks of the Senate, at their meeting held on the 9th March 1896.

The Scholarship will be awarded in accordance with the following Regulations:

A Scholarship, to be called "THE PEROZSHAW MERWANJI JIJIBHAI AVESTA AND PAHLAVI SCHOLARSHIP," of the value of Rs. 200 and tenable for one year, shall be awarded annually by the Syndicate to the Candidate who passes the B.A. Examination with the highest number of marks in Avesta and Pahlavi from among the Parsi Candidates, on condition that he prosecutes his studies in a College or Institution recognized by the University of Bombay.

The Scholarship will be awarded in accordance with the following Regulations:

A Scholarship, to be called "THE BAI DAYACORE MORARBHOY VIJBHUKHANDAS SANSKRIT SCHOLARSHIP," of the value of Rs. 175, shall be awarded every year by the Syndicate to the candidate who passes the Previous Examination with the highest number of marks for proficiency in the Sanskrit language. The Scholarship will be tenable for one year at any of the Colleges or Institutions in Arts recognized by the University of Bombay, provided that the scholar be prosecuting his studies in Sanskrit.

2. The candidate elected must satisfy the Syndicate, within six weeks from the date of election, that he has joined a recognized College.

3. The stipend of the Scholarship shall, subject to a deduction of five per centum to be contributed to the General Fund of the University, be payable half-yearly by the University Registrar on a bill to be drawn by the

In January 1896, in a letter addressed to the Registrar, Bombay University, Mr. Haji Jackeria Haji Ahmed Patel offered to the University a sum of Rs. 5,000, in 34 per cent. Government Promissory Notes, for the foundation of a Scholarship to be called "THE LORD SANDHURST SCHOLARSHIP," in commemoration of the opening ceremony, performed by His Excellency the Governor, of the Temporary Mahomedan Orphanage and Asylum, to be awarded annually to a Memon Mahomedan candidate at the Matriculation Examina

tion.

At a meeting of the Senate held on the 27th July 1896, the offer was accepted with the best thanks of the Senate.

The Scholarship will be awarded in accordance with the following Regulations:

A Scholarship, to be called "THE LORD SANDHURST SCHOLARSHIP," of the value of Rs. 150 and tenable for one year, shall be awarded annually by the Syndicate to the candidate who passes the Matriculation Examination with the highest number of marks from among the Memon candidates, on condition that he prosecutes his studies at a recognized College or Institution.

2. Candidates for the Scholarship must forward their applications for it, with their applications to appear at the Matriculation Examination in connection with which the Scholarship is awarded. (Vide Form AAY.)

3. The candidate who is awarded the Scholarship must satisfy the Syndicate, within six weeks from the date of his election, that he has joined a recognized College.

The offer was accepted with the best thanks of the Senate at their meeting held on the 5th April 1897.

The Scholarship will be awarded in accordance with the following Regulations :

A Scholarship, to be called "THE FRAMJI SORABJI BHAVNAGRI SCHOLARSHIP," of the value of Rs. 210 and tenable for one year, shall be awarded annually by the Syndicate to the candidate who passes the Intermediate Examination for the degree of B.A. with the highest number of marks in Avesta and Pahlavi from among the Parsi candidates.
