"That the Bahauddin Arts College, Junagadh, be recognized in the Faculty of Arts, and in the Faculty of Law for.the purposes of the First LLB. Examination."

The proposition on being put to the vote was

4. It was proposed by Dr. Temulji Bhikaji Nariman, L.M., and seconded by Lt.-Col. H. P. Dimmock, M.D., İ.M.S.—

"That in line 2, Regulation 1, p. 360 of the Calendar for 1900-1901, the words (250) two hundred and fifty shall be awarded annually' be left out and the words (500) five hundred shall be awarded every alternate year' inserted in their place."

The mover with the consent of the Senate agreed to accept the following motion of which due notice was given by Dr. K. E. Dadachanji :

"That in line 2, Regulation 5, p. 360 of the Calender for 1900-1901, the word 'annually' be left out and the words every alternate year' inserted in its place. "

5. It was proposed by Mr. Principal W. H. Sharp, M.A., and seconded by Mr. N. A. F. Moos, L.C.E., B.Sc., &c.—

"That a special order be passed under Section XII of the Act of Incorporation excusing one day's short attendance of Miss May Waller at the Deccan College during the First Term of the current year."

The proposition on being put to the vote was

6. It was proposed by Mr. Chimanlal H. Setaivad, B.A., LL.B, and seconded by Sir Bhalchandra Krishna, Kt. L.M.—

"That the offer of Rs. 6,000, in Bombay Municipal Debentures, from Ráo Bahadur Parvatishankar Manishankar Dave, for the foundation of two Scholarships to be awarded at the Intermediate Arts and First LL.B. Examinations, respectively, be accepted with the best thanks of the Senate, and that the following regulations be adopted for awarding the Scholarships ":

It was proposed by Mr. Rustam K. R. Kama, B.A., LL.B. and seconded by Shamsul-Ulma J. J. Modi, B.A., as an amendment, "that the Syndicate be directed to review their decision."

2. It was proposed by Dr. D. MacDonald, B.Sc., C.M., and seconded by Mr. K. K. Modi, B.A.

"That Gulabrai K. Hathi, Manilal K. Kaji, Amritlal M. Mehta, Chandramukhram D. Pandya, Motilal L. Parekh, Janubhai A. Syed, Jhuramal M. Advani, Udharam M. Chandiramani, Tuljaram T. Gehani, Devanmal H. Loda and Hashem Jaffer Toriani be allowed to appear at the ensuing First LL.B., and Raghavendrarao Baindur and Hoshang Nadirshaw Shroff at the Second LL.B. and Previous Examinations, respectively, without producing the attendance certificates."

On a point of order being raised the Chairman ruled that the proposition was in order only so far as it related to the case of Raghavendrarao Baindur who goes up for the Second LL.B. Examination but allowed the proposer to amend his proposition by limiting it to the said Raghavendrarao. The proposer then altered his proposition accordingly and proposed

That Raghavendrarao Baindur be allowed to appear at the Second
LL.B. Examination without producing the attendance certificate."

2. It was proposed by the Honourable Mr. E. Giles, M.A., and seconded by Principal M. Macmillan, B.A., that

"That the following words be added to Regulation 11 in Arts, p. 44 of the Calendar for 1901-1902-provided, however, that this Regulation shall not apply to Mr. Hoshang Nadirshaw Shroff in 1901.””

4. It was proposed by the Honourable Mr. Justice N. G. Chandavarkar, B.A., LL.B., and seconded by Mr. Chimanlal H. Setalvad, B.A., LL.B.,—

"That the Sind Law Class be recognised in the Faculty of Law, for the purposes of the First LL.B. Examination, till the end of 1902, and that such recognition should take effect from the date of expiration of its previous recognition."

5. It was proposed by the Honourable Mr. Justice N. G. Chandavarkar, B.A., LL.B., and seconded by Mr. C. H. Setalvad, B.A., LL.B.,—

"That the Gujarat Law Class be recognised in the Faculty of Law, for the purposes of the First LL.B. Examination, till the end of 1902, and that such recognition should take effect from the date of expiration of its previous recognition."

6. It was proposed by Mr. N. A. F. Moos, L.C.E., B.Sc., &c., and seconded by Khan Bahadur M. C. Murzban, M.Inst.C.E., &c., C.I.E.,—

(a) That on page 98 of the Calendar for 1901-1902 the following additions be made to Regulation 46 III :

"G.-Sanitary Engineering";

(b) That on page 105 of the Calendar for 1901-1902 the following additions be made after the words "The Forest Act" in line 33:

7. It was proposed by Lt.-Col. H. P. Dimmock, M.D., I.M.S., and seconded by Dr. A. G. Viegas,—

(a) That the words "annually in Bombay, commencing on the fourth Monday in November" in Regulation 21 in Medicine (page 75 of the Calendar for 1901-1902) be omitted and the following substituted instead:-"twice a year in Bombay, one Examination commencing on the fourth Monday in June, and the other on the fourth Monday in November"; (b) that the following be added after the words " Rs. 30" in Regulation 26 in Medicine (page 76 of the Calendar) :-" (or a fee of Rs. 60 in case he means to apper at the Examination to be held in June)."

8. It was proposed by Khan Bahadhur M. C. Murzban, M.Inst.C.E., F.R.I.B.A., C.Î.E., and seconded by Dr. Cowasji Hormusji—

"That the offer of Rs. 6,000 in 3 per cent. Government Paper from the Chairman of the Sub-Committee appointed by the subscribers of the Sir Jamsetjes Jeejeebhoy, Third Baronet, Memorial Fund for the foundation of a Prize in the name of the late Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy, Third Baronet, be accepted with the best thanks of the Senate and that the following regulations be adopted for awarding the Prize":

That on p. 107 of the Calendar for 1901-1902, under the heading "University School Final Examination," the following sentence be inserted after the words "a total of 250 " in line 3:-"A candidate who takes up Manual Training as an optional subject must obtain one-fourth of the full marks in Practical Carpentry."
