ADVERTISEMENT.

THE design of the present publication is to obviate the inconvenience which those students of the elementary branches of Mathematics, who have not the advantage of a Tutor's assistance, cannot but experience; not, indeed, from a want of examples in their subjects, but of inability to judge of the correctness of their solutions. The only work at present at all calculated to assist them in this difficulty (laying out of consideration a recent, but very erroneous publication, though professedly designed for the purpose) is the Algebra of Mr. Hind: still, excellent as are the examples there adduced, the present work, comprising, as it does, a very extensive variety of additional problems, (among others, all the Equation Problems
