PUBLISHED FOR THE PROPRIETORS, BY
RUTHERGLEN & Co., GLASGOW.
TO SIR ROBERT PEEL, BART.,
PREMIER OF ENGLAND.
I ventured to address you on behalf of an old Public Servant of Education suffering privation. With a generous promptitude you responded to my application, and by means of the "Royal Bounty," afforded timely relief to one who has "Done the State some Service." In dedicating this work to you, I take the opportunity, therefore, of thanking you, in the name of the scholastic profession generally; and would thus record the sense which the friends both of public and private Education entertain, of your sympathy for the Schoolmaster.
I have the honor to remain,
Your very obedient humble Servant,
Ed. S. Q. R.
